Monday 12th May - walks **** – Around Felixstowe – sunny and warm!

Walk 1.

I woke at 7 to find Mag had already biked around to feed our sons cats so I decided to have a quick drive down to Felixstowe Ferry to take some weather pics as the son had returned ! I stopped at the cliff top hoping to see some poppies sadly they were thin on the ground but the tide was low and the shingle islands were out before parking near the Ferry Martello Tower to take pics of the valaren followed by a quick stroll round the boatyard and home.

Walk 2.

After 3 days of hectic windsurf foiling I decided to have the day off despite the keen wind from the north continuing but I didn’t fancy another 50 drive to Wrabness for a gusty sail on the Stour! So we had a nice day at home, exercises once again in the back garden while Mag sorted her new plants she bought at Sutton yesterday! Then I backed a picnic and as it was getting on we just drove down to The Dip for a walk to one of our favourite picnic spot by the mouth of the River Deben. Once again the poppies by the beach huts were sparse but the sea kale or cabbage/ on kite beach near the golf course was absolutely stunning. We enjoyed our lunch sheltered from the breeze blowing down the Deben and the pate rolls were delicious:) On the walk back we bumped into fellow weather snapper, Julie Kemp with her famous dog Betty:) Then home for a cuppa and cake!

PS – was pleased to get a pic on ITV’s About Anglia, my 3rd this week but it was a photo I actually took yesterday!
